ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has refused to appear before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) with respect to the Hajj corruption case.
Gilani’s counsel stated that his client had legally followed the secretaries appointment summary and that he had already submitted a letter with the FIA on the discussed matter, hence he would not be appearing in front of the investigation agency.
Gilani’s lawyer Fawad Chaudhry added that his client had appointed the higher officials and the secretaries in accordance with the law and the summary sent over to him and that the FIA did not have any right to call him up.
Earlier, while investigating the Hajj corruption case,the FIA had issued a notice to the former PM with respect to illegal appointments.
