Kidnapped doctor recovered from Quetta; strike continues

QUETTA: Abducted optometrist Dr Saeed Khan, who was kidnapped from Quetta 43 days ago, was recovered within the capital city of Balochistan on Wednesday.

Sources from within the eye specialist’s family confirmed the safe return of Dr Saeed Khan, who was kidnapped on 16 October from Saryaab road Quetta.

Private and government hospitals had announced a strike following Dr Saeed’s abduction and the strike entered into its 45th day today on Wednesday causing miseries for the patients within the city and the province.

According to sources, Pakistan Medical Association Balochistan wing has announced to continue with the strike stating that the abducted doctor was recovered after the payment of ransom and that the government had not done anything with respect to his safe return.
