Posted by: Alize Ahmed, Uploaded: 30th November 2012

KARACHI: Varying reactions were seen within Sindh as Nationalist Parties observed a strike against the recent Sindh Local Government Ordinance on Friday. The main reason of the strike is to protest against the new SLGO.

Life was crippled in different areas of the province especially areas within Interior Sindh where the Nationalist parties enjoy strong influence.

Few areas of Karachi were also affected by the strike as violent activities were observed in areas like Gulshan Iqbal and Malir.

Despite these areas traffic remained less than usual in areas such as Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Safora Goth, Sachal Goth and other areas on the city’s outskirts.

Routine life was witnessed in other areas of the metropolis as traffic remained fluent.

Earlier on Thursday night, Two buses and a wagon was torched within Karachi.

Law enforcement authorities, in order to curb further violent activities, deployed appropriate police and Rangers officials within the city with respect to the sensitivity of the areas.
