Prime Minister’s Adviser on Petroleum Dr. Asim Hussain on Monday raided a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station at I-9 and ordered an inquiry against the station for not selling CNG.
The advisor said these CNG stations created a monopoly and overcharged public. When the federal government, he stated, tried to control them they resorted to threats and strikes.
Appreciating the apex court decision Dr. Asim lauded the court decision regarding CNG and petroleum product prices.
He said gas consumers will face few problems during this winter, adding, it was mistake of the previous government to provide gas in abundance and creating a big issue for domestic users.
Dr. Asim said the Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet in its meeting on Tuesday will decide on the issue of fixing petroleum product prices. APP
