Suicide attack on Taliban injures top commander

WANA: A suicide attack on Taliban resulted in severe injury to one of their chief commander Mullah Nazir on Thursday. The suicide attack was carried out near the vehicle of Mullah Nazir’s car who was accompanied by his men. Four Taliban were reported dead while nine others were reported injured in the incident.

The suicide bomb attack ripped off Mullah Nazir’s car, causing severe injuries to him.

The attack saw the bomber blew himself up near the Taliban commander’s vehicle when it was near the Wana market.

Fear and chaos gripped the area following the event as the entire area was emptied with the shops being closed.

Mullah Nazir is an important commander to the Taliban group with a good control over a large area within the South Waziristan area.

The Mullah Nazir faction, an anti Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group, is believed to have a strong affiliation with another Taliban commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur of North Waziristan.

According to sources, Nazir is actively involved in sending forces off to Afghanistan in order to combat the US soldiers.
