KARACHI: A three-judge bench of the Supreme court was hearing Karachi unrest case on Tuesday and directed the police to arrest the killers of MQM’s MPA Manzar Imam within 24 hours, reported Aaj News.
Slamming the progress of police, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said the police in Sindh was politicised that was why the court’s ruling had directed that the provincial police should be kept dissociated from politics.
The chief justice said Ajmal Pahari and Kamran Madhuri had also been released.
Over which police said court’s pressure was resulted in a release of those people.
Advocate General Sindh Abdul Fateh Malik said the government had a list of 5,000 Taliban who had entered the city.
Responding to which, Chief Justice Iftikhar said the Taliban were not something that the government could not control.
The situation get worsen in the city and every citizen is as important as Shahzeb Khan, he added.
Furthermore, directed to arrest the killers of Imam by tomorrow.
Later, The court deferred the hearing until February 6.
On January 17, armed men on motorcycles shot dead the MQM legislator, along with his driver and two security guards, in the Orangi Town area of Karachi.
