ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau on Thursday informed the Supreme Court about the cancellation of the passports of ex-Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority Chairman, Tauqir Sadiq.
SC ‘s two member bench headed by Justice Jawad Khawaja on Thursday heard the Tauqir Sadiq case. The case i being heard with respect to the failure of the law authorities to catch ex-OGRA chief Tauqir Sadiq.
NAB, in its report on Thursday, informed the Court about the cancellation of Sadiq’s two passports while the Federal Investigation Authority informed SC about providing entire information about Sadiq over to the Interpol in an attempt to arrest the the former OGRA chief over fraud issues.
FIA further informed the Court that arrest warrants with respect to Sadiq’s arrest can not be gotten issued until NAB pronounces him as ‘wanted’.
The hearing also saw IG Motorways appear within the Court. He informed SC that all officials have been suspended who had been negligent towards arresting Sadiq.
“It is now our responsibility to get Tauqir Sadiq arrested, rather than NAB’s,” remarked Justice Khawaja.
He further slammed the entire system adding that foreigners pop in Pakistan and carry out terrorist activities without being properly monitored.
Later the hearing of the case was adjourned till 10 January.
