ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court was hearing the suo moto notice taken by the chief Justice over killing of Shahzeb Khan, and ordered to arrest the murderers until January 10, reported Aaj news.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked that IG Sindh would be held responsible if the accused were not arrested until the given deadline.
Meanwhile, DIG-South Shahid Hayat informed the court that according to the records Shahrukh Jatoi, the main accused in the case, had traveled to the UAE under a different name and adding that the information of Shahrukh arrival in UAE was conveyed by the counsel general of Dubai.
CJP slammed the performance of police adding that IG Sindh and DIG should have been suspended but other than that the sub-inspector was suspended over the issue. FIA should be brought into interrogation if it was involved in escape of Shahrukh Jatoi, CJ said.
The apex Court expressed dissatisfaction over police report presented over the Shahzeb murder and said, IG Sindh must accept his failure. He should be afraid of Allah.
Upon which IG Fayyaz Laghari assured to arrest the suspects soon. While DIG requested to grant some time to search for the the prime suspect.
Therefore the court given respite for three days and hearing was deferred till January 10.
The three accused of Shahzeb Murder case including Siraj Talpur, Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Mustafa Lashari were send to jail on 10-days judicial remand.
All the three were produced before the anti-terrorism court today.
