KARACHI, Jan 21: A women’s community centre has been established in Thatta. This was announced in a statement of the Sindh Social Welfare Department issued here on Monday.
It said that the Sindh Minister for Social Welfare, Begum Nargis N.D. Khan, performed the inauguration. She pointed out that quite a number of projects are being implemented for the welfare and betterment of the women and to empower them as well.
Begum N.D. Khan said that the women’s community centre and projects like these would enable the rural women to project their culture in an effective manner.
She said that at such centre training and education would be imparted to the women which would help them earn their livelihood and support their families as well.
The Minister also urged the rural women to play an active role in the society in accordance with the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
