KARACHI – One of the three buildings affected in the twin blasts of Abbas Town blast on Sunday, has been declared dangerous by the experts and they need to be completely demolished and re-constructed.
Experts of SBCA pointed out that the reconstruction of Rabia Apartment is as essential as the Block-D Iqra of City apartment because pillars and base of both the buildings are equally damaged.
Sources said that the cost of repairing and reconstruction is approximately Rs120 million as reconstruction contractors would charge Rs1,500 rupees per square yard and construction of shops would take Rs800 to 100 per square yard.
Experts made a thorough visit to blast site. They revealed that cracks present between both the blocks of Rabia Follower Apartment would pose danger in future and repairing of the said blocks would also be dangerous. Experts said that Rabia Follower was completely furnished by the builder therefore damage is not as much prominent while the builder of Iqra City left the building without furnishing and residents of the building furnished their apartment themselves.
