LAHORE: Several houses were torched in Badami Bagh area of Lahore in protest against alleged ‘blasphemy’ by a christian youngster, on Saturday, reported AAJ NEWS.

According to the details, over 100 houses were completely destroyed in wake of the incident. However police reached the site but they were too tortured by the agitated mob.

The charged group had gathered around Joseph Colony on Noor Road, led by Shafiq Ahmed, who was in search of the accused Savan, alias Bubby. The mob then attacked Savan’s house, setting it on fire and pelting it with stones.

The residents of the nearby area said that the mob also damaged the car of a Christian pastor who had come to the area to assess the situation.

The violence began at 1 pm and ended only in the evening when a large police contingent was deployed at the spot.

Police officials pacified the mob by registering an FIR against Savan under the controversial blasphemy law.

The police took Savan’s father into custody.
