KARACHI: A police team of South Zone has arrested six suspects believed to be involved in Abbas Town bomb blast and other terrorist activities in the city.
Briefing the media about the arrests here on Thursday, DIG South Shahid Hayat said that the police following the information given by a federal intelligence agency, conducted raid in Defence View area and arrested two suspects identified as Khairuddin alias Mansoor and Muhammad Ishaq and recovered a car, two pistols and over 100 kg of explosive from their possession.
The police on their tip conducted raid on a house in Manghopir area and arrested four accomplices of the suspects identified as Irfan, Inam Ullah, Bashir Ahmed and Sher Alam Mehsud, the DIG said.
The police also seized arms and explosive material from the house. The DIG said that the suspect belong to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and were involved in Abbas Town bomb blast and other terrorism related incidents.
During interrogation, it was revealed that one of the arrested persons is accused of parking explosives- laden Suzuki pick-up at the Abbas Town blast site, DIG Shahid Hayat added.
