PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Barrister Arshad Abdullah Friday laid foundation stone of first phase of reconstruction of Central Jail Peshawar that would cost Rs.1.20 billion and would be completed in a period of three years.
Construction of central Jail Peshawar would be completed in four phases and would cost Rs 4.50 billion. Provincial Minister was briefed in detail about the project.
Arshad Abdullah said that reconstruction of central jail Peshawar would provide necessary facilities to the prisoners besides addressing grievances of the jail administration because it is constructed on modern lines.
He said that central jail Peshawar would be safe from security perspective adding that after construction of new building of central jail, space for 4580 more prisoners would be created in the jail.
