KARACHI: A new schedule for CNG load shedding has been announced by Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) which will be in effect from next week, media reported on Thursday.
According to the new schedule, CNG stations will remain closed on every alternate day.
Chairman CNG Dealers Association Abdul Sami Khan said that he has been informed about SSGC’s plan to observe alternate day CNG closure. He added that the decision is unacceptable for the people of Sindh.
He alleged that it has been schemed to transfer Sindh’s gas to Punjab.
According to transporters, approximately 95% percent of public transport runs on CNG and that new load shedding schedule will create great difficulty for commuters.
Meanwhile sources said that the decision has been taken to divert Gas from the CNG sector to the power sector to curb the energy shortfall.
