KARACHI: Eight people including two Rangers personnel and two policemen were injured in two consecutive blasts near para-military force checkpoint in Karachi, media reported on Saturday.
The blasts were reported in Katti Pahari area of North Nazimabad.
Sources revealed that the first explosion was a cracker blast which reportedly targeted a Rangers check post.
The first blast took place when unknown men riding a motorbike lobbed a hand grenade on Manghopir Road.
The attackers escaped, however, a second blast occurred as police and Rangers personnel arrived at the site of the explosion.
Several were reported injured in the second blast, including two Rangers personnel and a policeman. A volunteer engaged in the rescue operation was also wounded in the second explosion.
The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shahid Hospital for treatment.
