ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has urged the political parities having people’s mandate in Sindh to be on the same page for restoring peace in Karachi.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and other parties should jointly develop a strategy from the plateform of provincial assembly to handle the law and order situation, he added. Talking to a private news channel, Pervaiz Rashid said the Federal Government would consider the request, if any, from the Sindh government for seeking army’s help.
The army was, however, already handling the security issues, he added.
He said the Sindh government should take action against the culprits involved in spreading unrest in Karachi.
Replying to a question, the minister said the provincial government should appoint competent and honest officers for ensuring peace in the mega city and the Federal Government would fully cooperate with it in that regard.
He said that maintaining law and order situation in Karachi was the responsibility of parties having mandate in the Sindh province.
