MINGORA: The number of dengue patients rose to 800 in Swat district on Sunday, hospital sources said.
According to the sources, more than 400 patients had been admitted to the Saidu Sharif Hospital while rest ones were forced to getting treatment at homes due to lack of space at the hospital. The sources said that each patient was being charged about Rs1000 for a single test in private laboratories.
The sources further said that during the visit by the secretary health the hospital staff accommodated dengue patients in common wards to show the secretary that they were being treated properly. “There are no proper arrangements and measures to handle the dengue affected patients in the hospital,” an attendant said.
