KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, has called for effective law and order as well as cleanliness and other measures on the occasion of Eid ul Azha.
Chairing a meeting, he asked the administrative officers to ensure such steps in coordination with the police, Rangers and officials of the local bodies institutions.
Shoaib Siddiqui urged the Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and officers of the relevant organizations to undertake effective planning and coordinated steps for the security and cleanliness on the occasion of Eid ul Azha.
He stressed that maximum possible relief be made available to the people.
In a meeting with the delegation of the religious scholars, the Commissioner also requested the Ulema to play their due role towards fostering the inter-faith and religious harmony and spirit of brotherhood and thus contribute their bit towards a lasting peace in Karachi.
He said that the positive role on the part of the Ulema would help strengthen the governmental measures.
