KARACHI: A ceremony of change of guard was held at mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi on Friday morning as the nation celebrating Defence Day.
Ninety-six guards of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy Risalpur took over guard duties. Air officer commanding PAF Academy Risalpur Air Vice Marshal Rashid Kamal inspected the parade and took salute.
He laid the floral wreath on the grave and offered fateha.
The female cadets were also the part of the contingent which has assumed the guards duty today. A large number of PAF Officers and citizens attended the ceremony.
Special ceremonies are being held to pay tributes to those Shuhada who laid down their lives in defence of the country.
Defense of Pakistan Day is being observed today with a renewed pledge to offer every sacrifice for the defense and security of the country.
On this day in 1965‚ the whole nation stood united to foil enemy’s nefarious designs and armed forces effectively defended country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty against aggression.
