ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to convene All Parties Conference on September 9 to achieve consensus against terrorism, media reported Friday.
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, at the behest of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, telephoned all political parties having representation in the Parliament.
The federal minister telephoned Pakistan People’s Party leader Khurshid Shah, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Munawwar Hassan, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Dr. Farooq Sattar and Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan and invited them to attend the APC meant to bring all parties on same page for measures against terrorism.
The interior minister also called up Hasil Bazenjo, Mehmood Achakzai, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Imtiaz Sheikh for the purpose.
Meantime, the PTI spokesperson Shirin Mazari said Imran Khan accepted the invitation to the conference.
