DUBAI: The Governor of Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar met with Former Ambassador Javed Malik, who is also an Advisor to PMLN Chief, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
In their meeting in Dubai they discussed issues facing the Pakistani community in UAE as well as the efforts to expand the business and trade relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
Speaking on his arrival at Dubai airport, The Governor said that Overseas Pakistanis have a significant role for the development of the country and they must come forward to support their motherland. Ambassador (F) Javed Malik also briefed the Governor of Punjab on various initiatives that were being launched to expand the scope of relations between Pakistan and the UAE with a particular focus on enhancement of trade and commerce activity.
During the discussion the political situation in Pakistan also came under discussion and the Governor Punjab underscored the importance of building a national consensus on the major challenges facing the country.
He said that the government is working towards addressing the issues faced by the people, in particular to deal with the challenges of militancy, as well as energy crises which remain a priority. He expressed confidence in the recent efforts by all political parties to work together in the national interest and said that people from all walks of life and schools of thought should unite in the service of the country.
Also present on the occasion were local leaders of the PMLN Dubai and UAE chapters who welcomed the Governor of Punjab. Later the Governor Punjab addressed the Pakistani community at an event organized by the PMLN UAE. NNI
