KULGAM: Senior National Conference leader and Minister for Rural Development Ali Muhammad Sagar has said Kashmir issue would be resolved once India and Pakistan sort out their differences.
“India and Pakistan have to come close to each other in every respect. Once it happens Kashmir issue will be resolved automatically,” Sagar said while addressing a gathering here in south Kashmir.
“Only 72 militants were arrested in 1990 and we got them released but when Mufti Muhammad Sayeed became the Home Minister, there were killings everywhere,” he claimed.
“Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq was killed during that time along with one hundred people. Again more than one hundred people were killed in Bijbehara during that time. We were 29 ministers who presented resignation before Governor at that time,” Sagar said.
“Mufti Sayeed is nowadays trumpeting that if he comes into power he will resolve the Kashmir issue. He playing with the sentiments of people for the sake of power,” he added. NNI
