KARACHI: In order to facilitate its consumers, the Karachi Electric Supply Company set up a ‘Facilitation & Recovery Camp’ at Godhra Muslim Medical Center in Sector 11-G North Karachi on the 5th of September.
The Purpose of this camp was to gather all the residents of Godhra, where the recovery ratio was very low due to consumers defaulting on their payments. On the other hand some consumers had been unable to pay their bills in the past due to the law and order situation, along with other reasons.
KESC took the initiative and set up this camp to facilitate consumers at their doorsteps and provide them with easy installment bills. The area consumers were informed before-hand through telephone , announcements through mosques and personal contact through area representatives, so that a maximum number of consumers could participate. The area consumers welcomed this initiative by KESC, as their issues were listened to whilst some were resolved there and then at the camp.
It was also good to learn that the area consumers were very pleased to see this facility provided by IBC North Karachi at their doorsteps and insisted that this facility or rather camp, should be set up every month.
The customer facilitation camp started from 10:00 am Thursday, to 05:00 pm. DGM RPR Zafar Abbasi along with Manager Recovery for IBC North Karachi Wajahat Ali Samo along with other KESC team members were also present.
Almost 83 consumers out of a 300 visited consumers paid their bills at the banks’ cash collection windows which were next to the camp. Out of the total billed amount of Rs 2.1 million, the amount recovered was almost Rs 1.6 million which showed that the consumers were actively participating in it.
KESC welcomes this initiative and is keen set up some more camps, so as to facilitate its consumers even more. NNI
