ISLAMABAD: Renowned comedian Safirullah Siddiqui “Lehri” remembered on his first death anniversary on Friday.
Lehri career started on 1950. In his career, he performed in 225 films and won `Nigar Award’ several times. Life time achievement award was awarded to Lehri. In 1963, he won first award.
Between 1963 and 1986, Lehri won several award other than Nigar award.
Lehri’s first film “Anokhi” was released in 1956 and his last film was dhanak released in 1986.
His renowned films are “Tum mily pyar mila”, “Bhahadur”, “Noukar” and “baharen phir ayen gee”.
He died on 13 September 2012 in Karachi, aged 83. He had been under treatment in a private hospital at the time of his death.
