PESHAWAR: An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chitral region on Wednesday, day after a powerful tremor killed over 200 people in Balochistan.
Officials said the tremors were felt in Swat, Chitral, Malakand Agency, Shangla, and parts of Chitral region.
Pakistan Met office said the epicentre of the quake was Hindukash mountains.
Death toll from yesterday’s powerful earthquake in southwestern Pakistan rose to 208 after scores of houses collapsed in Balochistan areas near the Iranian border.
The earthquake struck Pakistan’s thinly populated province of Baluchistan on Tuesday and was felt across South Asia.
Army’s rescue and relief activities are underway.
