ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday decreased power tariff by 32 paisas per unit under fuel adjustment plan for the month of August.
Central Power Purchasing Agency had filed a petition to NEPRA for cut in power price by 32 paisas per unit for hearing.
During the hearing, NEPRA officials said cut in power prices has been demanded from all distributing companies except KESC.
According to the petition of the CPPA, the cost management of electricity generated out of carbon was counted Rs3.61 per unit, high speed diesel by Rs21.15, furnace oil by Rs15.48, while cost of electricity generated out of gas was only Rs4.94, nuclear electricity Rs1.32 while the price of electricity imported from Iran was Rs10.17 per unit.
The petitioner further added that in August, hydro-power makes about 40 percent of total power production due to which the cost management went down as a whole.
