KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday sought an explanation from OGRA and federal government till September 24 regarding hike in petroleum prices.
A division bench comprising SHC Justice Muneeb Akhter and Justice Ashraf Jahan were hearing the writ petition filed by Faizul Hassan.
The petitioner took the stance that current raise in prices of petroleum products is not only exploitation of the poor masses but also against the law and the constitution as it (hike in petroleum prices) is absolutely illegal and unconstitutional.
He said that raise in prices of petroleum products has become a routine matter for the government.
While accepting the petition, the court sought an explanation from the OGRA and the federal government in this regard till September 24.
