ISLAMABAD: The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday again denied holding any kind of talks with the government.
The TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid told a private news channel from an undisclosed location that the Taliban also support reconciliation and some Ulema have also contacted the TTP for peace talks. He said internal discussions on holding or not holding talks with the government are underway within the TTP. However, he said, no final decision has been made in this regard so far.
The TTP spokesman said the Taliban will make a proper announcement if talks were held with the government and nothing will be concealed.
It merits mentioning here that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had also denied media reports about talks with the Taliban and said no talks are taking place at the moment.
