ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif gave a go-ahead to the privatization of 26 percent shares of Pakistan International Airlines.
Chairing a meeting held yesterday to mull the PIA’s plight, the PM Sharif sanctioned the sale of 26 percent shares of the national flag carrier, saying the privatization process should be made optimally transparent.
The government, he added, is resolved to enhance the performance of all national institutions including the PIA.
The PM Sharif directed the PIA administration to improve the operational performance of the airline.
The meeting also brought under consideration the issue regarding mismanagement and appointment of additional employees in the airline.
