ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, nearly two-third Pakistanis (71%) think that Pakistan should not cooperate with the United States on the War against Terror.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people believe that Pakistan should participate with America to fight against terrorism while others think that it is America’s war and that is why Pakistan should not participate. What is your opinion?” Responding to this, 71% said Pakistan should not participate, 27% said Pakistan should participate while 2% did not respond.
A comparison of answers between males and females revealed that more males (74%) than females (67%) believe that Pakistan should not cooperate with US. The data reveals that amongst the provinces, the opinion varies, with 89% of KPK, 77% of Balochistan, 68% of Punjab and 66% of Sindh believing that Pakistan should not cooperate in the War against Terror.
