ISLAMABAD: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Thursday said that strict action would be taken against the airlines responsible for delay in the ongoing Hajj flights.
Talking to media persons at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), he said Managing Director Pakistan International Airlines has assured that some aircraft had been placed in reserve to meet any emergency situation.
He said Mauveen-e-Hujjaj have been directed to register complaints of the Hujjaj and provide maximum facilities to the intending pilgrims. Eight circles have been constituted for the purpose. Strict action would be taken against the Hajj Group Operator, if caught violating agreement with the Hujjaj.
The intending pilgrims are being vaccinated at Haji camps, he said.
Earlier, the minister administered oath from the elected members of the Non-gazette Employees Welfare Association of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
He assured for the resolution of the problems including the approval of service structure, promotion mechanism, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University would be separated from PIMS.
He said the Hajj quota of PIMS employees would be enhanced next year. PML-N MNA Malik Abrar, Chaudhary Ashraf Gujar, former minister J. Salik a large number of the employees of PIMS were present on the occasion.
