KARACHI: Eighty five percent of all dengue cases reported this year from Karachi pertain to North Nazimabad, SITE area, Clifton Cantonment Board, Saddar, F.B.Area Gulistan e Jauhar, Jamshed Road, Liaqutabad, Malir, Landhi and Korangi.
In the given situation the provincial government as well as district administration has ensured provision for adequate stock of platelet, anti-body kits and blood bags to all major public sectors hospitals in the city, a senior health department official told APP
here the other day.
“Emphasis is not only being paid towards intervention but also on prevention,” he said.
As per directive of city commissioner, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui fumigation, focussed on double spray basis, has also been initiated in two shifts in the city.
For the very purpose 24 more vehicles have been added to the existent fleet of 36 fumigation vehicles of KMC while 178 small fumigation machines are also being utilized by district councils to address the challenge of dengue fever as well as malaria.
Cantonment boards operational in the city are also being actively engaged to help protect people against a serious health condition that evolved consequent to rampant change in global climatic conditions.
