ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) clarified on Monday that it is not holding the polls for electing the Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Sources at ECP stated that the Court has been informed regarding this.
Syed Sher Afgan, the Director General (DG) of ECP, stated that the organization is providing technical support to the PCB for conducting the polls. He further claimed that the Court has accepted the decision of ECP.
The DG ECP told that the ECP does not have the constitutional mandate to hold the elections.
He further added that the ECP has closed its chapter reserved for PCB.
