ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry on Thursday clarified that there will be three official holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
It said a formal notification has been issued in this regard and there will not be four holidays as reported in a section of media.
According to Interior Ministry sources, the present government believes in work that is why the Eid holidays are restricted to three days instead of four. The sources said Monday and Friday of the next week will be working days and there will be business as usual at government offices during these days.
The notification issued by the Interior Ministry said the holidays would be observed from 15 to 17 October (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) across the country.
Earlier, four-day holiday was recommended by the Interior Ministry for Eid which will be celebrated in Pakistan on Oct 16.
However, the government announced three holidays instead.
