BAHAWALPUR: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the present government was making biggest ever investment in the history of South Punjab.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Quaid-e-Azam Solar Energy Park at Bahawalpur on Saturday, he said PPP claimed to be the champion of South Punjab, but people voted them out of power.
Referring to Solar Energy Park, Shahbaz Sharif said one thousand megawatt electricity would be generated through this facility in the first phase, and more than two hundred billion rupees investment is being made in the project.
Shahbaz Sharif said the park will supply power to Bahawalpur and other cities of Punjab.
The proposed is project is spread over 11,000 acres in Cholistan desert which will have the capacity to produce 1000 megawatts.
It is anticipated that initially 100 megawatt from the project will be added to the national grid by the first quarter of next year.
At the end of the ceremony Punjab chief minister excused from laying the groundbreaking stone and left the ceremony while promising that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will soon perform the task. NNI
