LAHORE: A committee has been constituted for formulatingrecommendations regarding transfer of Employees Old Age Benefit Institution (EOIB) and Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) from federal government to Punjab government.
The committee has been constituted on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
The members of the committee include Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar,Minister for Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Mian Atta Manika,Chief Secretary Punjab,Secretary Finance,Secretary Law & Parliamentary Affairs and Secretary Labour.
The first meeting of the committee held at Civil Secretariat was presided over by provincial minister for Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.
Acting Chief Secretary Aamir Sohail Mirza,Secretary Finance Jehanzeb Khan, Secretary Law Abul Hassan Najmi and Secretary Labour Capt.(R) Muhammad Yousaf attended the meeting,stated a hand out Thursday.
Addressing the meeting, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that concrete proposals should be submitted to ensure the transfer of Employees Old Age Benefit Institution and Workers Welfare Fund from federal government to Punjab government for the welfare of labourers and factory workers, provision of death grant,old age allowance,marriage grant,educational scholarships and completion of development schemes.
He said that all matters with federal government should be settled amicably by fulfilling constitutional requirements. “A working paper should soon be prepared for removing all legal complications so that problems of the workers could be solved at the earliest”, he directed.
