ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari said democracy offers solution to all our problems and it is now the responsibility of all political forces to join hands and work for strengthening the foundations of democracy in the country.
He stated this in a meeting with Pakistani community in South Korea, said a press release received here on Wednesday.
He said that Pakistan and South Korea enjoy cordial relations. He urged the Pakistani community to play a positive role in further strengthening bilateral relations.
Nayyer Hussain Bokhari also visited Korean Development Institute ( KDI)and met its president. He appreciated the work of KDI and underscored the need to learn from each other experiences in the field of economy and trade.
Earlier the Senate Chairman addressing ASAN institute for Policy Studies, said Pakistan wants the resolution of all issues through negotiations.
The world must recognize unmatched sacrifices offered by Pakistan in eliminating terrorism, Chairman Senate observed, adding that the menace of terrorism has caused negative impact on the economy.
He lauded the sacrifices offered by Pakistan army and other law enforcement agencies in eliminating terrorism.
Regarding Afghanistan, the Chairman Senate observed that peaceful Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan and the region and that we will support the Afghan owned and Afghan led solution for restoring peace in Afghanistan.
He briefed the participants about latest situation of the South Asian region and answered their questions. Participants appreciated Chairman’s remarks and lauded Pakistan’s role.
Meanwhile the Chairman and delegation met with investors of South Korea and briefed them about business opportunities in the country.
The Chairman Senate expressed satisfaction over the visit and also expressed the hope that it will contribute to further consolidating the bond of friendship between Pakistan and South Korea and will pave the way for more cooperation in different fields.
