ISLAMABAD: Veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the Kashmiris will not accept anything short of freedom from Indian bondage.
Syed Ali Gilani, addressing a mammoth gathering at Iqbal Market in Sopore said that pro-India politicians were facilitating India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, KMS reported.
He described as political drama the slogan of pro-India parties regarding resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
He said that the role of National Conference leader, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, was the real cause for the slavery of the Kashmiris.
“Some pro-India political parties have opened the Third Front and claim they will bring the change in Kashmir. What change they can bring when there is military and police control in all affairs of Jammu and Kashmir?” he said.
He maintained that the recent claim of the former puppet Chief Minister and patron of the pro-India People’s Democratic Party, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, to settle the Kashmir dispute after getting 40 seats of the so-called Kashmir Assembly was also a drama.
The veteran leader rejected autonomy, self-rule and other such road maps saying that only right to self-determination was acceptable to the Kashmiris.
He urged the people to carry forward peacefully the ongoing liberation movement. He
called for boycott of the sham polls of the so-called Assembly and the Indian Parliament next year.
Later, the veteran leader visited Seer Jageer area of Sopore and met the family members of Mohammad Afzal Guru, who was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on February 9, this year, in connection with 2001 Indian Parliament attack.
