ISLAMABAD: A 6-member Parliamentary delegation led by Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari has left for Untied States to participate in the Annual Parliamentary hearing at the United Nations.
The delegation is comprised of Senator Aitzaz Ahsan, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Senators Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, Babar Khan Ghouri, MNA Ms. Marriyum Aurangzeb and Secretary Senate Amjad Pervez Malik, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
The theme of the hearing is “re-thinking sustainable development: The quest for a transformational global agenda in 2015”.
The hearing will consider the role of Parliament in the implementation of new commitments for sustainable development and will discuss issues related to development and democratic governance besides considering the multiple dimensions of discrimination against women.
The Chairman Senate will present Pakistan’s point of view on issues related to sustainable development and governance.
