KARACHI: Chief coach Dav Whatmore continue to serve Pakistan team as per the expiry of his contract till February 28, 2014, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday.
“In order to lay speculation to rest with regard to the status of head Coach Dav Whatmore, of the Pakistan team, the PCB clarifies that according to the settled terms, the Board,s contract with him expires on February 28, 2014, It said in a statement.
Earlier this month Mr. Whatmore informed the PCB that he would not be seeking a renewal of his contract due to his personal and family reasons.
“The PCB acknowledges the fact that Mr. Whatmore enjoys the respect of the Pakistan team and management for his commitment and services to the development of the game in the country. Under the circumstances, the PCB and Mr. Whatmore have mutually agreed to
conclude the contract on February 28, 2014,” it added.
“Everyone at the PCB wishes Dav Whatmore the very best at a personal level and in the world of cricket in the future,” it elaborated.
“Dav Whatmore in turn has expressed his gratitude to the PCB for giving him an opportunity to serve the Pakistan team and wishes the youngsters many successes in the future,” the statement concluded.
