PESHAWAR: The traders of the provincial capital in view of the security threats have decided to close all bazaars and markets till the 10th of Muharram.
The decision was taken at a meeting of different traders` associations here on Wednesday.
It was decided that main bazaars come in routes of mourning processions including Qisa Khwani and Khyber Bazaar, Sadar Road, Chowk Yadagar etc would remain closed on 9th and 10th of Moharram.
The traders unanimously decided to suspend all types of business activities in the city during Ashura Muharram. Special focus is being given to cantonment and interior city areas in security measures for Muharram.
Police have placed barricades and barbed wires on roads leading to the interior city and set up joint checkposts in cantonment area for security purposes.
