ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) of Pakistan Army and paid tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The Prime Minister laid a floral wreath at the memorial of Shaheeds (martyrs) at the GHQ premises and also offered Fateha for their souls.
Earlier, Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani received the Prime Minister on his arrival at the GHQ. National anthem was played.
The Prime Minister reviewed the parade along with the Army Chief.
Later, the Prime Minister and the Army Chief proceeded for a meeting.
The Prime Minister will also be briefed about the current security situation in the country.
This is the Prime Minister’s first visit to the GHQ since he assumed charge of his office.
