ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday felicitated country’s newly appointed envoys and urged them to focus on further cementing Pakistan’s bilateral relations and multifaceted cooperation with the countries of their respective posting.
Those who separately called on the President at the Aiwan-e-Sadr included Lt. Gen (r) Javed Zia (ambassador-designate to Libya), Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry (Belgium and EU), Masroor Ahmed Junejo (Denmark), Abdul Hamid (Norway), Ayaz Muhammad Khan (Romania), Khalid Hussain Memon (Poland), Dr. Saeed Khan Mohmand (Greece) and Safdar Hayat (Philippines).
The President said present government attaches great importance to the development of trade and economic cooperation as an integral part of its foreign policy objectives.
He emphasized on robust pursuance of economic diplomacy by diplomats to further underpin economic footprint of Pakistan in European Union and other countries.
The President expressed hope that the newly appointed envoys would work with full devotion for further strengthening Pakistan’s trade and commercial ties with Belgium and EU, Denmark, Greece, Libya, Norway, the Philippines, Poland and Romania.
He also underscored the need for increased rapport with the Pakistani community in their countries of assignment and extending them every possible support and facilitation in resolving their problems.
The envoys-designate assured the President that they would earnestly work to augment Pakistan’s bilateral relations with other countries with particular focus on enhancing trade, business and investment ties.
