RAWALPINDI: As many as 345 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during last 24 hours in which four persons lost their lives and 241 sustained serious injuries who were shifted to different hospitals. However, some 145 victims with minor injuries were provided first aid by Rescue 1122 on the spot.
According to data 134 drivers, nine underage drivers, 48 pedestrians and 208 passengers were among the victims of these road accidents.
The statistics show 65 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 71 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 33 RTAs in Faisalabad with 42 victims and Multan at third position with 26 RTAs and 29 victims.
The details further show that total 390 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 317 males and 73 females, while age group of the victims show that 47 were under 18 year of age, 243 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 100 victims were reported above 40 years.
According to the data, 272 motorbikes, 34 auto rickshaws, 36 motorcars, 15 vans, one passenger bus, 17 trucks and 42 other vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
