ISLAMABAD: Chief meterologist Muhammad Riaz has said that current fog situation would persist for 2-3 days until new rainy system enters the country.
Talking to a private news channel, Muhammadd Riaz said that at the moment no vibrant system of rain is expected throughout the country.
He added that fog has become a permanent feature in Punjab and Khyber PakhtunKhaw at the end of December and January each year.
He said that it will prolong in most of the areas of Punjab including Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi bahaud din, Sargodha, Faislabad and Sahiwal.
He further said that Mardan and adjacent areas of river Kabul are going to be affected by dense fog in KPK.
He said, however, intensity of fog is going to be low in Southern Punjab.
He said that traffic, several trains and flights have been delayed due to dense fog across Punjab.
To a question he said that visibility is zero on Motorway and people should avoid unnecessary travelling.
