KARACHI: Law-enforcing and administrative agencies failed to handle the worst current situation of Karachi and as a result universities have cancelled papers while All Private Schools Management Association (APSMA) has announced to close schools today, Aaj News reports.
The renewed violence in the metropolis on Wednesday claimed 14 lives including a religious group leader Allama Deedar Ali Jalbani and three activists of Tableeghi Jamaat.
According to spokespersons of University of Karachi, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Federal Urdu University, and Dawood Engineering University all the papers scheduled today are cancelled due to deteriorating law and order situation in the city.
All Private Schools Management Association (APSMA) announced to close schools today.
Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has postponed the Essay Competition which was to be held today. An Open House ceremony at the Jinnah University For Women also stands cancelled.
The funeral prayers of that religious group leader Allama Deedar Ali Jalbani would be held at Numaish Chowrangi around 10:00am, for this reason MA Jinnah Road is blocked for traffic.
Many citizens claimed that firings at public spots are resulting in great loss of human life. They further said that it is the duty of the police to intensify their investigation to stop such activities.
