ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Tuesday unanimously condemned the repeated drone attacks within the territories of the country and urged the allied forces to immediately stop the illegal practice.
The resolution was jointly moved by Ms Naeema Kishwer Khan, Maulana Ameer Zaman, Ms Shania Akhtar Ali. The treasury as well as opposition jointly adopted the resolution.
The resolution says: “the House strongly condemns the drone attacks by the allied forces on the Territory of Pakistan, which constitute violation of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, international laws and humanitarian norms. Such drone attacks must be stopped forthwith.”
Minister of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Abdul Qadir Baloch said there is consensus on the stoppage of drone attacks as such attack violating country’s sovereignty.
He said drone attacks are proving counter productive and government wants the stoppage of drone attacks by building pressure on the allied forces. A Drone attack which killed Hakimullah Mehsood had already sabotaged the peace process.
Dr Arif Alvi of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf said the Nato supplies must be stopped.
