NOWSHERA: Former Provincial Minister and leader of Awami National Party (ANP), Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Friday claimed that Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Government in Khyber Pakthunkhwa has failed to address problems of masses.
Addressing a public and party workers gathering at the residence of former Member National Assembly (MNA) Masood Abbass Khattak here at Akhora Khattak, Mian Iftikhar Hussain claimed PTI which came into power the with slogan of change in society has failed to come up to the expectations of the masses.
However, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said ANP was a democratic party and desires that the present provincial government should complete its tenure and fulfill its promises made with public.
He said ANP had accepted the mandate of the political parties in government and will not destabilize the PTI government in KP.
ANP would not keep silence over for losses incurred to business community in wake of blocking NATO supply routes in KP, he added.
Mian Iftikhar said ANP government in its tenure while exposing the terrorists and militants had established such an atmosphere where people from every walk of life hated enemy of peace.
However, he regretted that today the killers of hundreds of innocent people are being given status of martyrs by some elements that were highly deplorable and condemnable. Mian Iftikhar said the followers of great freedom fighter Bacha Khan will continue to follow the non-violence philosophy by discouraging such elements and work for peace in society.
He said ANP would extend full support to the endeavors of government both in centre and province if peace negotiations are held in line with
All Parties Conference (APC) resolutions. For establishment of durable peace, he said first priority should be given to dialogue and if it did not work other options should be used, adding unnecessary delay should be avoided in the people’s interest.
Mian Iftikhar urged the Federal and Provincial governments to take practical measures for improvement of law and order besides resolution of problems of people.
He said ANP was ready to cooperate with all political parties including PTI to wipe out terrorism and asked the Central and Provincial governments to start moving towards establishment of durable peace and take measures in this direction.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain said our political workers would not allow any conspiracy against ANP and will give every sacrifice for the country and party.
Member National Assembly and former Chief Minister KP, Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that people have no concerned with Nato supply as they wanted jobs, employment, peace and electricity.
He said people wanted solution of their problems instead indulging themselves in meaningless protests. He said ANP respect the mandate of PTI and hope that Imran Khan would fulfill all its election promises made with people.
Hoti said people in KP have always rejected policies based on dictations and hallow slogans, adding those who have raised slogans of change in last election had miserably failed to address problems of masses.
Hoti claimed ANP was the only party that can protect rights of people and Pakthoons. Despite frequent attacks on the ANP leaders during last election campaigns, he said his party had participated in the election and accepted the election results to carry democracy system forward and strengthened democracy.
He claimed during his tenure as Chief Minister KP, network of educational institutes were setup and writ of Government in Swat was restored.
He said ANP leaders and workers are united under the leadership of Asfandyar Wali and will foil all conspiracies against the party.
