LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed on Thursday hailed Prime Minister’s announcement about peace talks with Taliban and urged that one representative each from all the major political parties be included in the committee.
Talking to APP, Opposition Leader said that the “Opposition would not do politics on the issue of terrorism” and support the government.
Mahmood-ur-Rasheed said that there should be a time frame or period for the peace talks and the PTI always stated that this long-standing issue should be resolved through dialogue as the matter relates to top national interest of the country.
He said that Rahimullah Yusufzai and former ambassador Rustam Shah Mehmand knew well about the circumstances and issues of Taliban and both the experts would be helpful in the peace talks.
The PTI leader hoped that the committee would work with complete zeal to avail “another chance of dialogue” concerning well being of the country.
He also said that national consensus should be developed over this issue and, “We all should seriously make efforts for bringing peace to the country”.
