ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi on Friday stopped parliamentarians to discuss the issue of immoral activities at parliament lodges.
After a statement by Interior Minister on the issue, the Deputy Speaker said, “no further discussion can be allowed on the issue till any evidence is received.”
He said he himself and the Speaker National Assembly have been investigating the matter during last 24 hours and by now no traces were found to substantiate the claim of the member.
“We could not get anything from investigations. Now we have written a letter to concerned member to provide evidence, if he has any,” he added.
The Deputy Speaker said nobody can be allowed to malign the elected representatives without any reason. “This is the matter of the prestige of this House. Therefore, no further discussion can be allowed till any evidence is provided.”
